The council meets with the Supervisor for work sessions on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month. A Board meeting is held on the 2nd Thursday of the month.

The councilmen are elected for a four year term performing duties such as Affirmative Action Officer, Audit of Claims, Youth, Planning Board Liaison, Technology, Fire Service Awards, Historical Society, PACE, Memorial Day, Conservation Advisory Board Liaison, Library, Disaster, Traffic and Safety, Park, Special Use Permits, and Audit of Claims.

The Councilmen and Supervisor are responsible for passing Town Local Laws which include zoning changes, allocation of public funds as well as other issues that pertain to the financial and well being of the community.
