Recycling Center Rules and Hours
Tuesdays 1:00 pm – 3:15 pm
Saturdays 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Last Saturday of October through the First Saturday of December
 9am-3pm
ALL Items MUST be cleaned
 
The following rules apply to the Recycling Center located at 2500 Eastwood Road:
1.        All vehicles entering the Recycling Center must have a Recycling Center Sticker affixed to the left side window which can be obtained at the Town Clerk’s Office. There will be no admittance without a valid sticker.
2.         The following items shall be accepted at the Recycling Center:
Glass-     Clear, Green, Brown Glass Food & Drink containers, metal or plastic
              covers and rings must be removed
             Paper-Newspaper, magazines and mixed paper.
              Plastic-Plastic containers must be marked with the recyclable emblem and a
                                     1 (PET), 2 (HDPE), 3 (PVC), 4(LDPE), 5(PP), 6, 7. Containers must be
                                     rinsed and cleaned the caps, rings removed
                                     NO SYMBOL, NOT RECYCABLE, NO STYROFOAM (6,7), NO PLASTIC BAGS
             Motor Oil Only- placed in the tank provided on site.
             Metals- to be placed on the metal pile as designated by the attendant
             Brush/Tree Limbs- Limbs not to exceed 6” in diameter
             Vehicle Batteries
                       Grass Clippings, Leaves - and other similar yard waste to be deposited in
                                              The  compost area as designated by the attendant
                       Electronics- see attached information
                      Tin and Aluminum Cans
             Corrugated Cardboard
             Chip Board- Cereal Boxes, Cracker Boxes, etc.
The following materials are specifically excluded from being deposited at the Recycling Center:
              NOT ACCEPTED
             A: NO HOUSEHOLD GARBAGE WILL BE EXCEPTED
             B: NO BUILDING OR DEMOLITION MATERIALS including shingles, plasterboard, wood, brick, 
                  or plastics.
             C:  NO BLOCK WOOD, such as tree stumps, chunk firewood, etc.
             D:  NO TIRES OF ANY KIND. Rims will be accepted, but tires must be removed for their acceptance
             E:  NO METAL DRUMS new or old of any size – for example: 55 gallon oil drums. In order to be
                  able to handle recyclables in compliance with procedures established by the New York D.E.C.,
                  The Marilla Town Board must insist on the strict enforcement of the foregoing rules. Violators
                  Of these rules shall be subject to loss of their recycling permit and a minimum fee of $100.00
                  Not to exceed a fine of $250.00.
            F:   NO WAXED OR PLASTIC COATED OR FOOD CONTAMINATED cardboard or chipboard boxes.
            G: No ceramic drink and cookware. No Mirror and Window Glass, Clay Pots, Light Bulbs and no
                  drinking glasses, aquariums              
Electronics Recycling
 
            The Town is now participating in an electronics recycling program. The following items will be picked up at the curb with your regular trash:
o   Computers
o   Keyboards and mice
o   Small scale servers
o   Fax machines
o   Scanners
o   VCR’s
o   DVR’s
o   Portable Digital Music Players
o   DVD Players
o   Digital Converter Boxes
o   Cable or Satellite Boxes
o   Electronic or Video Game Consoles
o   Cell Phones
 
Due to the very limited space on the recycling trailer TV’s, large monitors and printers must be taken to the Town’s Recycling Center.
 
        All of the above items will also be accepted at the Town’s Recycling Center on Eastwood Road.
